GR Medical was awarded a contract with a major health care provider that employs or contracts with over 10,000 physicians nationwide. The provider was having a particular challenge with its revenues related to the workers’ compensation part of its practice. GR Medical was retained to conduct a needs assessment, workflow redesign, training for the Provider’s physicians and staff and to assist in the implementation of the changes recommended by GR Medical. As a result of the work done by GR Medical on behalf of this client to increase the amount of reimbursement that the client was legally and ethically entitled to, the client wrote to thank us for:
"increasing revenues and cash flow from the workers’ compensation department by three-fold (300%) and increasing employee and patient satisfaction dramatically".
GR Medical was selected to take over the outsource billing and collection function for an orthopedic practice with six physicians and four physician assistants. Previously the practice had been with another billing company for approximately nine years and was relatively happy with the service, but the new administrator for the practice was not able to easily obtain the type of financial reporting he was looking for from that prior billing company. Not only was GR Medical able to supply the reporting required by the practice, but was able to reduce the average days in AR by over 30% within six months. With GR Medical’s advanced claims scrubbing technology, the amounts of denied claims were dramatically reduced. This resulted in a significant positive impact on the group’s cash flow. The client wrote in a letter to GR Medical that:
"within only three months of GR Medical Management taking over the management of our billing and collections, our practice had a net increase in cash flow of better than twenty percent (20%)".
GR Medical has handled the billing and collection function on an outsource basis for a prominent multi-center Southern California orthopedic practice for over a decade. The administrator for that practice writes:
"We consider GR Medical Management to be our partner and essential to our growth and success. By outsourcing our billing and collections to GR Medical, we can focus our internal resources and efforts on providing quality patient care and other clinical matters, while they focus on the time consuming and often complex matters associated with the administrative functions of a modern medical practice. Without GR Medical, we would have to hire and manage an additional thirty (30) or more people to handle the work they are doing for us. We estimate that without GR Medical, we would probably be spending almost twice as much to handle the work they are doing for us, on an in-house basis. GR Medical Management assisted a new client in this capacity was when a group practice with about 180 employees had developed a substantial backlog of claims that needed to be coded and sent out for payment on very short notice in order to meet a regulatory deadline. Not only did GR Medical get all of the claims processed for the client ahead of schedule, but did the work for about one half of the budgeted amount. GR Medical also provided coding review and training for physicians from the group. The group’s administrator writes:
"GR Medical Management came to our assistance during a crunch period. They under promised and over delivered".
